Tryouts are held in June for the 11-13 Boys and Girls.

Trouts are held in September for the 8-10 Boys and Girls.

Rumson participates in the Mid-Monmouth Travel Basketball League. The league supports teams for both boys and girls and players are required to live in the town for which they play.

Each year tryouts are held in late May/early June for most age divisions that will participate in the upcoming season. 

The fall season (Sep - Dec) includes 5 teams which play a 13 game schedule. The fall teams consist of players ranging in age from 11 - 13 years old. Games are played during the week and on weekends. 

The winter season (Dec - Feb) includes 5 teams which play a 10 game schedule. The fall teams consist of players ranging in age from 8 - 10 years old.  Games are also played during the week and on weekends.

The league is designed to provide a competitive set of games culminating is a seeded playoff series for teams that qualify.

Travel Team Tryout Procedures

• All travel teams are required to have an announced open tryout each year.
• A mid-season tryout may be conducted only if a spot is open. This tryout must be an announced open tryout.
• All tryouts must have a third party evaluator and this must be on record with the Recreation Director.
• A new resident, who moves into town after the tryout or a child who was sick and unable to attend the tryout, may report to the first practice, at which time the coach will determine if that child will be accepted onto the team for that season.
