RFH Rowing - 2018 Rowing
RFH Rowing, established in 2006, provides the opportunity for boys and girls in grades 9 - 12 to join almost 3000 area teens currently competing in the one of the fastest growing sports in New Jersey and the United States. The program provides experienced coaches, rowing instruction, fitness training, and competitive scholastic racing for student-athletes of Rumson and Fair Haven, New Jersey.
The program receives help from the RFH Parent Booster Club with equipment purchases as well as help to offset programs costs. Please visit the RFH Booster Club website for more information;https://www.rfhrowing.org
There are 4 distinct seasons for rowing all of which are managed by the Rumson Recreation Department.
SPRING - The spring is the most competitive season of the year. During this time of year the program is considered a club at RFH High School and will compete in at least 7 scholastic regattas through out the northeastern United States. The season starts in March and is over by beginning of June.
SUMMER - The summer is time for recuperation from the long spring season as well as getting the newest participants up to speed for the fall season. In the summer months there are no competitions.
1. Learn To Row Summer Camps - for Middle School (7th and 8th Grade) and High School age children. This is for children new to sport or who wish to join the RFH High School Crew Team.
2. High School Summer Crew - the high school participants will be on the water 3 times a week for 20 sessions total over the summer. It is also expected that they attend weight training sessions with the RFH Rowing Staff.

WINTER - The winter is time for to ramp up the conditioning and fitness to get ready for the grueling spring season. Rumson Rec offers conditioning sessions at RFH and at CBA indoor water tanks. Winter conditioning is open to Rumson & Fair Haven residents in grades 9-12 and all registered RFHRHS students. Conditioning will include calisthenics and erg training on Concept 2 Indoor Rowers, including improving rowing techniques, and building strength and stamina. Students athletes will also participate in weight training sessions coordinated by the RFH Rowing Staff.
IMPORTANT: Water tank training at CBA has been cancelled due to facility availability. Program costs have been reduced to reflect this change.
PLEASE NOTE: Participation in winter-training for
RFH Rowing does not guarantee a spot on the RFH Rowing spring roster. Any
