RUMSON RECREATION PROGRAM REGISTRATION POLICY

All Rumson Recreation sports programs conduct open registrations prior to each season.   All registrations, regardless of payment type, must have an affiliated on-line League Apps Family Account set up.    Credit card transactions may be completed on line.   Cash/Check transaction must be accompanied by a paper Registration Form and delivered to Rumson Borough Hall, 80 East River Road.  Paper registration forms can be found in the front lobby of Rumson Borough Hall.  Check payments are payable to Rumson Recreation.  Do not mail or use the Borough drop box for Cash transactions.   Payment is due at the time of registration. Registrations are not complete until payment is made

Announcments of new registrations will be advertised on the Rumson Rec website, on the Rumson Recreation  Facebook page, via our @RumsonRec Twitter account, on the Community Bulletin Boards, and through the Rumson Public Schools, RCDS, and Holy Cross.

Each year, there are four Open Registration periods: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.  Spring sports registration (baseball/softball, R-FH girls lacrosse) takes place  Jan 1 - Jan 31Summer program registration (Camps, Summer Playground, Summer Hoops) is March 1 start - May 31 and  Fall sports registration (soccer, R-FH flag football) takes place  June 1 - July 15. Winter sports registration (basketball, crew winter conditioning) occurs between  Oct 1 - Oct 31.  For information on Rumson Rec sponsored  Travel Sports tryout registration, please see Travel page of website.

Rumson Rec strives to keep its Registration Fees as low as possible and so must plan far in advance with respect to number of teams, number of coaches recruited and certified, and uniform and equipment purchases.  All planning is based on registered headcount.  Late registrations and dropouts impact the quality of our programs, thus fees are  non-refundable and non-transferable.  When the Open Registration period ends, Spring, Fall and Winter registrations will be assessed a  $50 Late Fee per registration.  Summer programs will be assessed a $10 Late Fee per registration.  The size of the program is dependent on field/facility space and volunteer coaches available - no one is guaranteed placement.  Early registration is recommended to ensure your child's place.  If your child is not placed in the activity due to space limitations, your fee will be refunded.  

If you notify Rumson Rec that you wish to withdraw from an activity and the participant's spot can be replaced from the Wait List, a credit will be applied to your on-line account. Rumson Recreation may, at its sole discretion, grant a refund if requested -- any refunds granted will be assessed a $10 Transaction Fee.

Note: You are responsible for full payment on all registrations, even if you decide to withdraw from the activity prior to the season .  Completing the on-line registration form is considered a contractual obligation.  Late Fees will be applied to all payments received after the Open Registration period, even if the on-line registration form was completed before the deadline.   Late Fees $50 for Fall, Winter and Spring activities

If you wish to make a payment by check or cash, you must fill out a separate paper registration form for each registration and turn it into Borough Hall accompanied by full payment. Incomplete registrations, including an incomplete on-line family account or incomplete payment, will be returned to the registrant. Registration is complete only when received with full payment and processed by Recreation staff.  Once fully processed, registrants will receive an email transaction confirmation of registration.

For those who have an unpaid registration pending, our former policy applies: Payment is due at the time of registration.  Rumson Recreation reserves the right to prioritize participants with fully paid registrations if the activity is full and to cancel any registrations in which payment has not been received within 7 days.  In order to avoid a Late Fee, payment must be received during the Open Registration period, regardless of when the registration form was completed.  


Rumson Recreation cannot honor requests for specific coaches or team selection.  Teams are selected either by computerized random team generation in the younger grades, or a draft or blind draft process in the older grades.
