LITTLE LEAGUE (Baseball and Softball), Ages 9 & Over

Important Note about LL Division Age Eligibility: Little League has strict age requirements determined by birth date.  For Baseball ages 10-14years, players must be the designated age as of August 31 of that year to be age eligible for a division.  For Softball, players are divided based on grade.  In TRLL Baseball, parents may opt to have their non-age-eligible a child who is young for the grade "play up" with peers in his/her grade, with the understanding that this decision will impact the child's eligibility for post-season play.  If your child is young and elects to "play up" with his/her classmates during the regular season, he/she is eligible for post-season LL Baseball playoffs only in the division in which he/she played during the regular season -- a child will not be eligible for two divisions -- and that child will be competing against older players for a spot on the post-season team.  In TRLL Softball post-season, your child may only try out for the LL Age Division she is eligible for by birth date, regardless of what division she played during the regular season.  In any case, if your child is old for the grade and wishes to "play down" with his classmates, this requires special permission from the TRLL Board (for safety reasons), and he/she will not be eligible for post-season play.  TRLL strongly encourages players to register and play during the regular season according to Little League Eligibility Rules.

LL Post Season Play - In addition to the specifications listed in the Age Eligibility section above, there are several requirements for post-season eligibility.  Players must participate in a minimum of 75% of regular season games in order to be eligible for post-season tryouts.  Post season runs mid-June through July, depending on division.  A player must commit to attending all practices and games in post-season to be eligible for tryouts.  Birth certificates and proof of residency, such as a current utility bill, will be required for post-season players.  Post-season teams will be selected according to a competitive tryout.  Tryouts may be open to all who are eligible OR by nomination process, as determined by TRLL Board.  Tryouts anticipated to be held the end of May or early June.
